Three Strands of Christianity - What I learned from Mennonites
Three Strands of
Christianity
(or what I learned
from the Mennonites)
Sometimes All is not One
But three
(From Trinity?)
Righteous Old School
Follow the laws or be
condemned.
Be righteous and
distinct society or else.
Give admonition to those unrighteous around
you.
Catholic old school.
Old Mennonite farmers
clucking their tongues at short skirts.
Nazarene School
Do unto others.
Judge not.
Be innocent but not
stupid
Serve your neighbor.
Just say My Name and
you are Mine!
Hippy Jesus freak
soup kitchen.
Mennonite Central
Committee putting in wells.
Evangelical epistles
All have sinned and
fall short,
Condemned and Left
Behind at any time.
Be tiny but loud
With no doubt and
little thought
Struggle is failure.
Mennonite missionary
modelling monogamy.
The triangle flows
from corner to corner
and all are
connected,
the emphasis is different.
Each one says their
Way is the only
quote from the others
to justify
The diversity lets
many in,
each sharp edge turns
some away.
